I hope that this year brings everyone hope, love, and happiness.

…a lot of new gadgets and tech!
Well, this has been a pretty busy couple of months for me leading up to the retail holiday peak season.
I believe the peak season starts earlier with each passing year.
I’ve started to deep dive into Swift 4. I’m taking courses here and there and watching YouTube videos. The difference between Swift and Objective-C is enough that I find myself scratching my head every once in a while. Swift is extremely easy and more forgiving than previous languages.
I stay away from politics on my website because I don’t follow politics anymore. I found it to be too much of a distraction. In my opinion, I’ve never seen so much ado about nothing when it comes to “Russian Hacking.” That easily translates into buying advertising and that does not equal hacking. Since the Democrats lost the election solely because they abandoned the worker classes, whether or not anyone “hacked” an election seems to be a distraction from their real issue. I’m pretty sure the democrats still haven’t learned their lesson and I don’t see them winning another big election any time soon. Ok, enough of that crap.
I believe when it comes to personal relationships, I’ve determined that love is not in the cards for me. Since my breakup last year, I’ve had a lot of time to think and I honestly don’t think I’m a good catch. I like being alone. Don’t get me wrong, if my ex showed up and told me she wants to give “us” another try, I’d jump at the chance. She was and always will be the perfect one for me. When you meet that person you just “know” that you’ve found your soulmate. I’m not planning on pursuing love interests or any other “interest” for that matter.
I believe that is all for now. I’m still waiting for the Minecraft 4k update.
What else is there?
I am really slacking on posting. It is amazing how little time I get to do these types of things when I am on my regular schedule.
I plan on updating the vacation posts this weekend.
#mikeissuchaloser
I just realized how little I’ve posted this month. I put out a few Facebook posts and Twitter but nothing on my own website.
Of course, I don’t really expect anyone but me to read this drivel anyway.
I have been playing way too much Xbox and listening to several books a week in addition to reading books on Kindle.
The books are updated in the sidebar so they usually represent exactly what I am reading at the moment.
Hopefully, I’ll get (make) some time to load a few posts. I have opinions about everything so there is no shortage of material. Just, a big huge shortage of time.
Today is the first day in several years (days off not withstanding) that I am working a “normal” shift at work.
We are starting a major project that will take a least a year to complete and so I’ve had to make some adjustments.
This very first thing I’ve noticed is that I actually have time to get up in the morning and spend time writing. I can’t express how happy that makes me. I love writing. For the last several years, my work schedule hasn’t afforded me a lot of time to do so.
So, one of the first things I’ve done this morning is to try and find a replacement for Blogsy. Apple must be abandening applications that still work under 32 bit in the next iOS release. To be honest, I thought they would have already done that with a minor release.
I’m writing this using an app called BlogPad Pro. So far, I like it. There are a few things I’ll need to figure out. I had used Blogsy from day one so I am very familiar with how it worked.
My life has changed a lot in the last 6 months or so. Some good. Mostly bad.
I’m trying to keep some optimisim in my life so hopefully, writing more will help do that.
I am not the type of person that likes to buy things that I have to put together. I go out of my way to buy things that are already assembled. My office chair is a good example. I went to Staples and found a chair I loved. I just didn’t want to put it together so I talked the sales guy into letting me take the finished unit on the floor. He did and I still have the chair to this day.
With that being said, I just bought a simple TV Stand on Amazon and was amazed at how simple it was to put together.
If you are looking for a simple Tv stand that has a couple of shelves and takes about 5 minutes to put together. Check this link out. You will not be disappointed.
Well, the busy holiday madness is over for me. Time to catch my breath and decide what I’m going to do going forward.
I’m sure you’ve noticed the big holes in posting that have occured for the last several years. As I’ve said on the podcast that I’ve started back up again…we’ve been busy and stuff.
I’m looking forward to the next year and hope that the dream that I have in my heart comes true and that real love and happiness are mine once again. Time will tell.
This blog has always been about me and what I like and will continue to be so.
I’m half the person I used to be and as I’ve said just a couple paragraphs earlier, I am hoping for the best.
I hope we all find the happiness we so richly deserve.

The Dragon holds 7,000 pounds of freight, including the soft-sided compartment built by Bigelow Aerospace. The pioneering pod — packed tightly for launch — should swell to the size of a small bedroom once filled with air next month.
I really mean it this time.
For some reason, when I went to buy chipheadmike so many years ago it wasn't available.
I couldn't believe that some a**hole had decided to grab the name. I mean. Really. How many chipheadmikes could there actually be.
The other day, I decided to look again to see if it was available after 7 years or so and WHOLA! It indeed was available.
The next question was…what do I do with it?
I have decided to merge everything that I could find that I've ever written or posted online into one place.
That is what chipheadmike will be. A place to keep my stuff.
This blog has been around since 2008 or so.
I do not update it regularly.
I have decided to create something new. A new name with articles or columns that I write that have more to do with the writing world I am now apart of.
This new website will be a bunch more entertaining and I’m going to take some of the filters off. I will write about and post things that interest me whether they are too “bold” to post or not.
I’ve always tried to keep a super clean blog.
Sometimes, though, you just want to say bad words.
I’ll see ya’ll out there somewhere.
I am currently working on server type stuff. I realize that if I get much more technical than that, there will be a few folks whose heads may explode.
I enjoy the simplicity of Mac Server.
I do not enjoy the complexity of creating an internal ecosystem.
If you’ve read this and said to yourself “what the hell is he talking about?” #geekwin
These are some of the stories I found to be important enough to save to Instapaper.
Our paychecks just got 2% lighter.
Some folks would like to ban the term “fiscal cliff” from the English language.
A great bluetooth security idea for Apple computers.
That's all I have for this week.
Stay tuned. Coming up this week…I'm sure congress will do something stupid, someone will try to take someone else's rights away, and the United States (sans morality) will continue to spiral into the abyss of history as a great idea on paper but easily corruptable over time which leads to its inevitable failure.
Here are some stories worth reading via Instapaper.
1. The Surface. Great product? Poor Execution?
2. A few books that Bill Gates think are worth reading from 2012.
3. Five planets found around Tau Ceti. One may be habitable.
4. Short battery life plagues Windows 8 tablets.
5. Fake Morgan Freeman statement on Sandy Hook killings.
I haven't posted anything on here for 10+ days.
There is a good reason for that.
Ok, no there is not.
I have a new day time work schedule so maybe that has something to do with it.
Two Things That Piss Me Off
The lady that puts her hazardous lights on, gets out of her mini van in the middle of a busy road to collect mail from a roadside mailbox. The problem is that the lady doesn't just grab the mail and move along. No. She stands there in the road looking at each piece of mail. Hopefully, one day someone will run her fat ass over.
The media (call it mainstream if you'd like) but the media in general really pissed me off over this Sandy Hook school shooting. How many facts can you get wrong? Not only that but the sensationalizing and glorification of an evil cold-blooded child killer is wrong on any planet you may find yourself on. The media should be ashamed of itself for the way it covered this tragic event. Shame on you and I hope you burn in hell you pathetic pieces of shit.
Wow. I feel better.
Yes. Someone still needs to run the fat ass mail lady over. It just needs to happen.
July has been an interesting month for many reasons. Since I do not live out my life on Twitter, Facebook, or even this blog, suffice it to say that I've been writing.
Writing code, short stories, and developing a few screenplays in an environment that is unfriendly to all of the above.
I live in a loud building.
And now for something interesting…
Pennsylvania may have been a blue state in the last few elections but that may change in this next election. Why? You ask. A new law that requires you to present a valid photo-ID when voting will quickly eliminate most of the non-eligible voters that have plagued PA elections in the past. That means no dead people will be voting, older folks who park their asses at home and haven't driven in years won't vote because they will be too lazy to obtain a new ID even though it's free if you tell PennDOT that you need it to vote, and younger lazy people and lazy people in general.
The cities are blue in PA but the rest of the state is not. It will be interesting to see how this election plays out but one thing you can be sure of is that mostly legitimate folks will be voting.
A seriously bad economy almost guarantees that a pet rock could win against Obama in November.
1. Way Too Much “Sharing”
2. Way Too Many “Notifications”
3. Notifications literally can interrupt game play, thought processes, and bring the game to an abrupt halt. I’ve been in “placement mode” only to have a notification kick me out of it. Same with plowing or planting seeds. I’ve had to literally go through the process of buying seeds two and three times because a notification has kicked me out of what I’m doing.
4. At this point, Farmville does more of “getting in your way” than anything else.
Ok, small semi-enthusiastic rant over.
So, I’m minding my own business and reading up on nutrition as it relates to biking. Specifically, I was looking up calories burned while biking when I came across the term “bonking.”
Stop laughing.
It’s serious. Check out the story here.
It seems that when you can get up in the morning and concentrate on just writing you can get more done.
My sessions have been far more productive when I don’t have to worry about dealing with other things. I imagine that Stephen King probably locks himself up in his office and doesn’t come out until he is finished with putting down his thoughts. I have adopted a similar policy. If I am getting into something that I’ll either need to finish or don’t want to lose by interruption then the door gets closed. If I’m making a blog post like this one, door stays open.
My ideal dream job is doing this very thing. Not writing about politics or doing column work; anyone can do that. I’m talking about crafting a story. Taking an idea that you have and making it bloom into an interesting tale that anyone can follow along with and enjoy.
I think it would be thrilling to sit in a movie theater with folks you don’t know watching something you wrote and being able to see their reactions in real time as they watch it. I suppose that would have both positive and negative implications.
This is what is known as a “drive by” post.
This blog officially has 2 names.
smpmike.com and stuckatmydesk.com
If you type in stucktmydesk.com you’ll get re-directed to smpmike.com. Trust me. It’s the same place.
I’ve moved this site to another server.
Change is good.
I know all about the bunny stuff but I’m not sure where the bearded, dead, son of god dude fits in to all of this. 🙂
Perhaps, the bearded, dead, son of god dude liked chocolate?
I’m obviously joking Pat Robertson. Get off me.
The great lengths that NBC (stands for Nothing But Crap) is going to for damage control and the complete and utter BS coming out of the front office concerning the alteration of the Zimmerman 911 call is laughable.
What is that saying…”Better to remain silent and let others believe you to be a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
