Broken Promises

Picture from Windows Central

I have been looking forward to the Minecraft 4k upgrade on xBox One X for about 2 years. That was already problematic for me. I’m used to Apple making an announcement and then delivering on it shortly thereafter. Mojang doesn’t follow that example and chooses to announce things that don’t really exist for consumers, promise that they’ll have it by a certain date, and then simply not deliver it. From Engadget…

Minecraft‘s big Super Duper Graphics Pack is no more after two years of delays. Mojang has cancelled the visual overhaul after deciding that it was “too technically demanding” to implement. The developers “aren’t happy” with the upgrade’s performance across platforms, and chose to axe the project rather than offer inconsistent quality.

Pretty sure it wasn’t the developers that chose to axe the project.

Guess I should start learning how to mod the game.

Minecraft Greek-i-ness Edition

I have been working on a flat world. The idea is that this is the perfect foundation for a city. I started with a small area and realized that a “monorail” would be cool and then kinda of started taking it from there. Here are some screen shots from my Greece-like area.

Minecraft Weirdness

The follow picture is a building I have constructed in Minecraft. I sealed up the building when I created it. The only way inside is by going through doors you have to open (they are not automatic). My question is how do horses end up on top of my structure? There is no logical way for them to be up there and yet, there they are.

Minecraft & Me

I’m not sure what prompted me to do so but about a week ago I decided to get Minecraft for xbox One. It looked interesting and I was willing to learn the ropes and start playing.

Then, I discovered “creative” mode. No attacks, no problems, just build build build.

That was right up my alley. That is all I’ve been doing for a week and it is amazingly fun!

I’m currently building a modern city within an island chain. It is called Weirdville.

I always seem to be the Johnny come lately when it comes to video games.

Minecraft has been around for.ever.
